Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Data Analyst / Data Scientist with 3–6 years of experience to work on transforming steady-state engine emissions data into transient engine emissions insights. The role involves leveraging large volumes of measured engine data to develop robust transfer functions and improve the accuracy of emission predictions for transient operating conditions.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a passion for analyzing complex data, solving real-world problems, and driving innovation in engine emissions modeling.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop transfer functions to predict transient engine emissions from steady-state engine emission measurements.
Analyze and interpret large datasets of measured engine emissions to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product teams, to ensure alignment of data insights with business and technical goals.
Implement advanced data science techniques (e.g., regression, machine learning, or time-series analysis) to improve prediction accuracy.
Validate models and transfer functions using real-world datasets to ensure robustness and reliability.
Communicate findings effectively through reports, visualizations, and presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science, emissions standards, and automotive engineering to incorporate the latest techniques and technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Experience: 3–6 years in data analysis and data science roles with a focus on automotive/engine emissions.
Proficiency in handling and processing large datasets.
Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries like matplotlib, seaborn).
Understanding of steady-state and transient engine emissions, as well as underlying physical and chemical processes.
Knowledge of time-series analysis and signal processing is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Strong communication skills to present technical information clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Prior experience working with emissions data or within the automotive industry.
Knowledge of emissions standards and regulations in Great Britain/Europe.
Exposure to cloud-based analytics platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
What We Offer:
Competitive compensation package based on experience and employment type (Perm/Contract).
Opportunities for professional growth and learning in a rapidly evolving field.
Flexible work location (Remote/Hybrid options available).
Collaborative and inclusive work culture.
